Case File

Notes from a Very Patient Detective

Let me say something real quick.

I don’t know who’s been keeping these notes. I don’t know how they know what they know. But I do know this.

They are terrible at finishing things.

You don’t start documenting cases like this unless you plan to follow through. You don’t introduce clues, names, little threads, then just disappear for weeks.

That’s amateur work, compa.

Whoever’s writing this down clearly has good instincts. I’ll give them that. They notice details. They catch moments. They understand people.

But then they hesitate. They second-guess. They stop right when things get interesting.

Muy dramático. Not in a good way.

New names keep appearing in the margins.

Mateo. Quiet. Observant. Always noticing what the rest of us miss. That’s not an accident.

And another name. Reed.

I don’t know what role he plays yet. But nobody writes a name down unless it matters.

So listen, mysterious note-taker.

If you’re going to follow us around, at least keep up. The team is forming whether you’re ready or not.

Finish the work. Or stop pretending you’re not already in it. That’s my clue. - Detective Diego
